Who's invited?

We’re excited to invite all 66 of our represented artists to the gallery to celebrate our anniversary with a show opening, peer education and the opportunity to meet each other.

Where at?

The gallery is located in the Historic East Village of Des Moines, a shopping-central neighborhood with blocks of restaurants, bars and boutiques all within walking distance. The hotel, gallery and scheduled events all take place within a 5-minute walk. Our personal recommendations on nearby restaurants and shopping will be shared closer to the event.

Friday, May 10

The agenda will be updated as logistics are finalized.

  • 9:00 am | Breakfast + artists mingle

    Breakfast will be provided. Hosted at the event space next door to the gallery (Vows, 111 E Grand Ave #109, Des Moines, IA 50309).

  • 9:30am | Welcome from Liz Lidgett

    Liz will share some gallery updates—where we’ve been and where we’re going, looking ahead at the next couple of years. Hosted at the event space next door to the gallery.

  • 9:45 am | Education: Marketing panel

    Along with Liz Lidgett, artists Bekah Worley and Racheal Jackson will be sharing their marketing successes as a small business and how it can apply to all artists. Hosted at the event space next door to the gallery.

  • 11:00 am | Education: Stay inspired

    Artist Allison James will be sharing best practices on how to stay motivated and inspired as an artist. Hosted at the event space next door to the gallery.

  • 12:00 pm | Lunch + headshot

    Lunch will be provided. Hosted at the event space next door to the gallery. There is also the invitation for a creative artist headshot with a local photographer. Photos will be shared with artist.

  • 1:15 pm | Meet for the tour

    Transportation to the Des Moines Art Center is provided. Meet at the event space next door to the gallery.

  • 1:30 pm | Des Moines Art Center tour

    We've coordinated a private tour of the Des Moines Art Center for the group. We're proud of it!

  • 3:00 pm | Break

    Time for artists to explore Des Moines or rest before the party.

  • 5:00 pm | Anniversary show opening

    Artists, clients, media and the local community will be invited to celebrate with us! Drinks and small bites provided. Hosted at the gallery from 5 - 8pm. Cocktail attire recommended. 

Saturday, May 11

  • 10:00 am | Artist brunch (optional)

    A final get together for our artists to connect before going back home! Brunch will be provided with a limited menu. Hosted at Bubba in downtown Des Moines (200 10th St, Des Moines, IA 50309).

A hotel block has been made at the AC Hotel by Marriott Des Moines East Village.

The Des Moines International Airport (DSM) is 10 minute Uber from the gallery and hotel.

  • Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is a 3-hour drive away
  • Omaha international airport, Eppley Airfield (OMA) is a 2-hour drive away
