Mary Cook
Marcy is an amazing artist. In addition to being a fantastic painter, Marcy is a florist. She previously owned Stems of Dallas and was a full time artist along with being a full time florist. Talk about multi talented! When creating, Marcy pulls inspiration from the natural world and her focus is on the feeling rather than what one can see.

She focuses on rest, peace, movement, grace and light and fills the canvases with a reflection of her love for the natural world. Painting is an extension of one’s self and Marcy uses it to convey the way she sees the world and through her work we are able to see things through her eyes; bright, natural, and colorful. Each one of her pieces comes matted and placed inside a gold frame.

“The first time I realized I loved creating was with my dad as a little girl."

"[...] I remember staying home from school one day because I was sick, and he taught me how to draw a house, with a white picket fence and long driveway, in perspective. Later on, in high school, I picked up a paintbrush, loved it and decided to study visual arts for my college degree. Creativity in painting, for me specifically, is an outlet in my life that I can’t even really explain. I have to feel rested, inspired and refreshed to paint, but when those moments come, I make the pieces I’m most proud of.”

Look for further announcements to come about her upcoming spring show at the gallery alongside her dear friend, Taelor Fisher!
