Christina Flowers’ paintings are characterized by her use of color and hard edged abstraction. Trained first as an Architect and Industrial Designer, Flowers approaches her work with structure and rhythm. Interested in liminal spaces and the dualities of nature, Christina’s paintings strive to embed these moments and the emotions evoked within them. The study of color relationships and the illusion of transparency are frequently explored in her work which is influenced by the architecture of landscape.

“I love how the act of painting requires me to be completely present. The subjects I study in my artwork are a reflection of this feeling; moments in time where I am completely aware. The moment you dive into a cold crashing wave and your breath is stolen from you. The moment you step out of the cool shadows and into the sun. I strive to capture these moments to be shared, contemplated and experienced over again.”
