From all over the world, they display a variety of mediums, backgrounds and passions. Beyond gallery representation, they’re all hustling to expand their art career in creative ways. We love seeing the opportunities our artists create! We wanted to share a few recent highlights with you.
While strolling through one of
Italy’s gas stations, Liz noticed a familiar sight. Sitting on a bookshelf for purchase was a book with artwork by
Lino Lago
as the cover. This book
PHI by Azra Kohen
is one of a trilogy--all of which have Lino Lago’s artwork as the cover.
Previously having worked with national brands like West Elm and Anthropologie, Minneapolis artist
Ashley Mary
recently collaborated with Summersalt on a limited edition swimsuit print. The pattern was created directly from her collage work. Available as a one-piece or two-piece, you can
purchase the swimsuit here!
We still have two pieces available by Ashley Mary. Let us know if you're interested!
Our gallery piece, The Background III, by
Leigh Suggs
was recently featured in
Midwest Living. Included for a photo shoot, the piece looks lovely in the styled bedroom! Also still available to purchase
at the gallery, it’s a special opportunity to partner with Meredith Corporation on a national level. We love seeing our artists’ work shared far beyond Des Moines’ borders.
We also have one additional piece available at the gallery by Leigh Suggs. See below!
Kristi Kohut
was spotted in the most recent issue of
Rachael Ray, highlighting her styled home and original artwork. She also mentions how she’s growing her own collection with pieces by her artist friends. We noticed she’s sitting under a
Logan Ledford
original, another artist included at our gallery!
We said goodbye to our vintage lip sofa last week! We loved our time with it, but was so happy to find it a permanent home in St. Louis, Missouri. Designed by
Angela Chrusciaki Blehm, her lip sofa was featured in the Pop Wow collection first seen at our gallery in July. While perusing the most recent
Architectural Digest, we noticed a complete spread on vintage lip sofas, highlighting their original inspiration by Salvador Dalí. We’re certain the lips will be cherished in their new home!
Here's a few Pop Wow favorites that are still available at the gallery:
Local artist Jenna Brownlee
is not represented at the gallery, but we’ve worked with her on so many local projects that we love sharing what she’s up to. She’s partnered with Kate Wagner, the founder of Lidgett.
(and Liz’s sister), to create a custom-designed pattern for the entrepreneurial clothing line. The brand’s fall line has been announced and a new pullover jacket
includes Jenna’s florals! We’re so proud of both Kate and Jenna as they make killer designs together.
These are just a few highlights. Our artists are constantly creating. We love seeing their newest projects and sharing them with you. It reminds us how fortunate we are to have these talented artists’ work in the Des Moines community!
