Have you ever seen an artist’s work and just instantly known you would get along? From the moment I saw Angela Chrusciaki Blehm’shome and artwork I was totally drawn to her and her style. When I was creating my ultimate list of artists to sign for the gallery, Angela was on it and she was one of the very first to sign on. I am so grateful for her belief in this gallery, for her friendship, and for her art.

We are also so thrilled to host her first solo show and bring Angela to Des Moines. She arrived Wednesday and we have been going at a non-stop pace since.

During this process we also have to say goodbye to our first show, Welcome. So happily, we have sold a huge portion of that show to clients. While any artwork that was a part of the show that still remains is still available, it will be in storage and come back out as we sell the pieces from Angela’s show, Pop Wow! If you have had your eyes on a piece, don’t hesitate to ask us for a look.

Taking down and storing the work is our first step, with repairing and mending walls to look pristine before we install Angela’s show. Our beloved yellow wall is also getting a really fun update.

Next is laying out the show around the room to understand the flow and set up. Angela’s show is extremely special because we will be creating vignettes with furniture she created with Chris Lund and the most amazing vintage lip sofa you’ve ever seen. This won’t be your typical art show, because nothing that Angela does is typical.

We cannot wait to welcome the public here this Friday to open Pop Wow. Stop by the gallery on Friday, July 19, between 4-7pm to say hi and experience Angela's amazing artwork. If you'd like to see the pre-sale list of pieces available for purchase, let us know. Angela is a rising star in the art and design world and we are so proud to call her a friend and welcome her to our favorite city, Des Moines.
