Recently, our interior mural in the renovated Strategic America office certainly comes to mind with its saying, “No one outthinks or outhustles us.” Or a commissioned painting with artist Jimmy Navarro for the new Winchester’s restaurant dealing with the Hennessy logo “What’s your wild rabbit? Never stop. Never settle.” But the one that has stuck with me the most is the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines’ “Better Together.”
The idea of “Better Together” is so simple but profound in its meaning. There are many partnerships where when two great business are brought together, amazing work can happen. It also dovetails with my belief in collaboration over competition. This is all to say, that when we were opening the art gallery, I knew I wanted to offer framing but did not have the room for our own framing shop. Over the last several years,
Tandem Brick
has become my preferred framing partner. I love working with Kathie, Josh, Dean and the entire team on creative projects and know that every time I bring a piece of art to their store, their work will make it sing.
Framing has such a specific role to play in the world of art. It’s meant to protect, preserve, and display a work. Done well, your eyes move straight to the work, and the frame only adds to the overall experience. Done poorly, and it can ruin a piece.
Each time I have worked with Tandem Brick they have taken such care in the overall aesthetic and preservation of each project.
When you come to buy a piece at Liz Lidgett Gallery + Design, we will have a variety of clean and timeless frame options right there in the gallery. Tandem Brick will then create the frame for the piece, and the art will be delivered to your doorstep, complete. Why reinvent the wheel when there is a perfect partner already doing great work up the street. Our gallery and Tandem Brick are simply better together and I am so pleased to offer their services to you.
