I absolutely adore Christmas decorating, but this year I am struggling to decide what route I want to go.

Green + Cozy + Kristen Abbott

Kristen Abbott's work is already so natural and cozy, it was only natural that it was paired with an organic, green holiday theme. Kristen often works outside and uses the world around her not only as inspiration, but also as a medium - she includes little leaves and grasses that fall into the paint as she is working. I really wanted to embody that in the way I chose to design this holiday mood board and make it as earthy and nostalgic as possible. They holidays are a time for getting together with loved ones and reminiscing on the year that is coming to a close and holidays past, I wanted this to feel timeless as Kristen's work feels and cozy as the soft greens make one feel while they are in its presence.

Black + White + Leigh Suggs

Leigh Suggs' Rolling Triangles IV is edgy because of its harsh contract in color and also because of the hard edges in the precise cuts she has made in the  acrylic is this show stopper of a piece. I chose to really lean into that edgy elegance with this mood board for a black and white holiday. While this can be a very cold way of decorating, it can also be cozy.

Ballet + Gold + Jose Romussi

The Nutcracker has been a part of holiday celebrations for well over one hundred years and has been made into countless movies and books. It is a classic which plays into Jose Romussi's piece Gold Dancer for a number of reasons. Firstly, The Nutcracker is a ballet and Jose works with vintage images of dancers in his work. Secondly, speaking of vintage, the images of dancers that Jose uses are from decades ago, making both the artwork and the theme something that started long before the idea for this holidays decorating. Lastly, there is a lot of gold used in the ballet and Jose's piece has been embroidered with gold thread, making both the decorations and the piece elegant and rich.

Floral + Sweet + Marcy Vreeland

If you know me, you know I love a good floral display and who pairs better with florals than Marcy Vreeland? Marcy has a background in floral design and uses that as inspiration in her art and, here, we are using her art as an inspiration for a floral display! Overall, this feels like a very romantic way to decorate for the holidays and could even be a great style of decorating for a proposal or holiday wedding or vow renewal. Also, can you imagine how wonderful that floral tree smells? I'll be dreaming about it for months.

I am so excited to see the way everyone decorates their home to match their art and what pieces they purchases to match their Holiday decorations. Keep in mind that we do have limited commission openings with a handful of our artists for Holiday gifting!
